Sergeant Kelemen was born and raised in the La Crosse area and is a 1996 graduate of Onalaska High School. He honorably served six years in the US Air Force and was stationed in North Dakota and Japan. While in the military he attended the University of Maryland & Central Texas College.  Sergeant Kelemen also attended the Western Technical College 10 week police academy and was hired as a patrolman with the Campbell Police Department in 2001. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2005. He enjoys home improvement projects, water skiing, camping, fishing and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Chief Latva started with the Campbell Police Department in 1981 as a part-time officer.  The town created a new position and he was hired as a full-time patrolman in 1984. Chief Latva progressed through the ranks from a patrolman to investigator and was named the Chief of Police in 2005. Prior to joining the Campbell Police Department Chief Latva served in the US Air Force and also worked for Forsyth Township Police Department in Gwinn, Michigan and the City of La Crosse Airport Fire & Police Department. In his spare time you can find Chief Latva on one of the many local golf courses or in the gym as the head women's basketball  coach at Western Technical College.  Chief Latva has one son and one daughter who both reside in La Crosse.

 

                   

 

 

                   

Officer Scheel was born and raised in the La Crosse area. He started his law enforcement career in 1980 serving as a Reserve Officer with the Onalaska Police Department.  Officer Scheel attended Western Technical College and obtained an associates degree in Police Science in 1985. After graduation he worked as a part-time officer with the Hokah, MN Police Department.  Officer Scheel was hired as a full-time patrolman with the Campbell Police Department in 1987. In his off time he enjoys camping, home improvement projects and spending time with his family. 

 

 

                   

Officer Fronk is a 2000 graduate of La Farge High School. He then attended Western Technical College and graduated with a criminal justice associates degree in 2004.  He has worked for the Vernon County Sheriffs Department, Ontario Police Department and was also a 911 Emergency Dispatcher in La Crosse County. Officer Fronk was hired by the Campbell Police Department in 2006.  He enjoys fishing and spending time on the river in his free time.

Officer Fronk is also the department K-9 officer. He is currently training Winston in narcotics detection.

Officer Chris Carley

Officer Carley graduated from Madison Area Technical College in Police Science and entered law enforcement in 1997. Over the years Officer Carley has worked for the Mazomanie PD, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Wisconsin Dells PD, Lake Delton PD, UW La Crosse PD and most recently the West Salem PD.   Officer Carley was recognized as 'Officer of the year' in 2004 by the Wisconsin Veterans of Foreign Wars for his intervention efforts with at risk youth in West Salem. Officer Carley was hired by the Campbell Police Department as a patrolman in 2005. In his off duty time Officer Carley enjoys sports activities and spending time with his wife and Great Dane.

  Karla Pleau

 

Karla Pleau is an Administrative Assistant for the Campbell Police Department.  She was born and raised in the La Crosse area and has been employed in various law enforcement administrative fields since 1989.  She has been with the Campbell Police Department since 1999.  She honorably served in the US Army for 4 years and was stationed in Kentucky and Germany.  When not hard at work she enjoys reading, movies and most of all spending time with her family that includes lots of nieces, nephews and great nieces.  Karla's dedication and attention to detail could not be duplicated and is greatly appreciated by department officers.
